Formazione e carriera scientifica - 1979: Firenze, laurea con lode in Scienze Agrarie presso l’Istituto di Geopedologia e Geologia Applicata dell'Università, con tesi sperimentale ad argomento pedologico, a cui viene conferita la dignità di stampa - 1980: abilitazione allo svolgimento della libera professione di agronomo - 1981 – 1985: Modena, sperimentatore del M.A.F. presso la sezione dell'Istituto Sperimentale Agronomico - 1981 – 1985: Firenze, ricercatore presso l'Istituto Sperimentale per lo Studio e la Difesa del Suolo, sezione centrale di Genesi, Classificazione e Cartografia del Suolo, - 1988 – 2008: Siena, docente a contratto di Pedologia e Geopedologia al dipartimento di Scienze della Terra dell’Università - 1999 – oggi: Firenze, primo ricercatore del CRA-Centro di ricerca per l’agrobiologia e la pedologia
